I have a confession—I just started using an online calendar just last week. I now understand all the hype and benefits of using Google calendar, how it notifies you and allows you to invite people to meetings, share details and manage several aspects of life (work, fitness, classes, etc.). While Google calendar is a great way to stay on top of everything in your life, there is also a plethora of other tools that can also keep you organized and help you gain more time.

I’ve now become a little obsessed with trying new online tools and trying to maximize my time throughout the day! For those going back to school or looking to streamline your work process, these simple tools will become your new go-to digital de-cluttering machines that lead you to success.

If you want to organize projects & events, and love Pinterest, then…Use Trello

Trello is a tool that lets you organize everything. It allows you to create boards with tasks or items underneath as lists. Within any particular item, you can list descriptions, due dates, add links or attachments, or include images. It also lets you invite members to your boards, so you can collaborate on your most important projects. This would have been so handy for my group projects in school! I’m using Trello right now to organize a 5K event for work, and it’s been so helpful to keep everything in one place.

If you are swimming in subscription emails in your is for you!

Do you still get emails from companies you subscribed to in high school? *raises hand. Maybe it’s time to organize and unsubscribe from the clutter. gives you a tool to easily batch unsubscribe from emails to give you a cleaner inbox—and help you focus on sending in your resumes and asking your professors questions. A happy inbox is a happy you!

If you enjoy reading the news with your coffee...TheSkimm is your girl.

If you haven’t subscribed to TheSkimm yet, it’s going to be an email that makes your inbox happy. TheSkimm offers the latest and most important news in a skimmable, entertaining way, Monday through Friday (or Fri-yay, as they often say). Everyone at school or the office will be talking about news featured in The Skimm, so make sure you stay current with this easy way to read the news.

If you’re prone to getting lost in the Internet world… Pocket is your new best friend.

I’ve been looking for an easy way to save blog posts, videos and content online to view for later. It doesn’t always work to have 20 tabs open at a time, so when I heard about Pocket, this was a game-changer. Pocket is like an ultimate bookmarking service, where you can save webpages to read later while you’re on your laptop, phone, or tablet. It just takes one click to add something to your Pocket. When you’re reading to dive into the vastness of the Internet, simply go to the app to view everything you saved. It doesn’t just save the things you find, it saves you time and energy.

If you want to schedule meetings faster...Calendly is your next personal assistant.

Did you know that almost 30% of our time spent working is answering emails? That’s about 13 hours a week. Imagine what you could do with that time if you didn’t have to respond to long email chains about scheduling meetings. Calendly is a tool that analyzes your Google calendar and your availability to better plan meetings with groups of people at once. Instead of going back and forth to your calendar, Calendly does this for you!
