My name is Jonathan Javier and I am interested in the Summer 2016 Marketing Internship Position. I am a 3rd year Business Administration student concentrating in Marketing at the University of California, Riverside. I am interested in Marketing because of prior brand ambassador and internship experiences.
Start off by talking about who you are, where you go, and what you are interested in that pertains to the job/internship.
By creating marketing strategies and managing events to promote products and services, I have created thousands of networks with individuals while gaining experience in merchandising and social media. I am confident that I am a good fit for your company because I have demonstrated sales, marketing, and management abilities from my past work experience.

Since my 1st year in college, I have been involved in ambassador and internship programs. I have demonstrated my abilities with companies such as Sherwin-Williams, ProSky, Youth Marketing Connection, and TobaccGo. I have shown excellent leadership, initiative, and teamwork skills by collaborating with fellow interns and district managers on projects and marketing strategies.
During my recent internship with Sherwin-Williams, I conducted research comparing the company’s culture to Frazee Paint presenting a marketing strategy to senior management through Microsoft PowerPoint. Also, I have coordinated campus events and managed social media sites for companies such as Youth Marketing Connection, TobaccGo, and ProSky. My marketing strategies ultimately increased Sherwin-Williams and TobaccGo’s revenues by over 10% through customer relationships and promotions. Also, I have managed inventory and pricing for companies through Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Excel, utilizing pivot tables and formulas.
Talk about some of the experiences you have had that pertain to the job/internship you are applying for. For example, if the job says in its qualifications “Proficient in public speaking and creating marketing plans,” you can talk about your experiences in these.
Through my past experiences, I have created networks with customers who continually use ProSky and Youth Marketing Connection as news and recruiting sources. While working as a campus ambassador at Youth Marketing Connection, I exceeded company goals of over ten group visits with organizations and referred over 200 students to use the application called Band. Also at Sherwin-Williams, I received a certificate for placing second on my Sherwin-Williams and Frazee merger project which incorporated media, marketing, and merchandising strategies.

I hope that I may be a great fit for this position. I am a hard-worker and motivated to work the best I can as I am passionate about my work and would love to further develop my skills in order to succeed in the marketing field.
