Not getting enough hours of sleep in a day can hinder your ability to perform in your job, work on projects with other team members, and learn, decreasing your chances of getting hired after interviewing with recruiters. There have been so many scientific studies proving how much getting good sleep is important to the success of any individual. Learn how f.lux, a new app, can help you get the sleep you need to be productive at work.

Lack of sleep affects more things than the average millennial realizes:

If you are sleep deprived or even just the right amount of drowsy, you are more likely to cause an accident.

According to WebMD, "the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that fatigue is a cause in 100,000 auto crashes and 1,550 crash-related deaths a year in the U.S. The problem is greatest among people under 25 years old."

Sleep is definitely incredibly important to have and we know it has so many benefits. The Sleep Judge published findings from the Sleep Foundation stating, young adults ages 18-29 should be getting at least 7-9 hours of sleep per night

I don't know about you, but with all this technology consuming everybody’s life, it seems impossible to receive the sleep you need to make sure you are not ruining your chances on your interview day.

Did you know that looking at your laptop screen before bed can affect your quality of sleep?

I didn’t either until I came across an app called f.lux

The idea behind f.lux is based on tons of research on the effects of blue light on the body’s circadian rhythm. According to f.lux’s website,

Experimental research suggests that an average person reading on a tablet for a couple hours before bed may find that their sleep is delayed by about an hour.

F.lux fixes this problem by adapting the color of your computer’s display to the time of day—as the sun sets, f.lux adjusts the colors of your screen to reduce the stimulating effects of the blue light.

It’s sort of like a sunset for your computer. It’s awesome.

If you’re like me and the last thing you look at every night before you go to sleep is your computer screen, you NEED this app. I only started using it a couple weeks ago and I already feel like I’ve been sleeping SO much better.

But don’t just take my word for it, you can try it out yourself by downloading f.lux here (it’s FREE!).

When it comes to interviewing you want to make sure you look your best to impress interviewers.
